You might want to set alarms to tell you when the nectar flow has started, when you have a sudden drop in weight (did a bear attack the hive), or detect when a swarm has occurred.  You can have an email sent to you whenever these events happen by setting alarms in the Web app.

1.) Select the hive scale you would like to configure with an alarm(s).  Select "Details".

2.) Click on the Alarm icon.

3.)  There are several choices for different type of alarms:

The screen will look as below.  Enter values that are appropriate for your location and climate.

  • Remember to check mark the alarm you want to have active.
  • Remember to press the Save button before exiting this screen.

When an alarm is triggered, you will receive an email to the email address you used when you registered your account.

Note: If data has not been uploaded for a long time, you may initially receive a lot of alarms.  This feature works best when data is being uploaded regularly, particularly via WiFi.  During swarm season, it might be advisable to have at least two daily uploads so that any swarm can be detected quickly.

4.) An alarm email will look like this for an alarm set to trigger if the weight dropped below 13 lbs.:
