Monitoring the internal temperature of your beehive will yield fascinating results and insight into the state of your honeybee colony and help you care for your hive.

A healthy colony

Graphically viewing a graph of the internal temperature of your hive is very insightful.  A constant 94F (34C) temperature indicates that the hive is healthy and brood is present.  Honeybees will attempt to keep the temperature constant at that temperature regardless of the outside temperature.

A weaker colony

If the internal temperature fluctuates correlating with the outside temperature, it means that the bees are not able to hold a constant 94F (34C) internal temperature.

In this case, after the hive split, the internal temperature varies more than before the split and the variation correlates with the outside temperature.

A swarm

A temporary rise in temperature during an otherwise flat temperature curve can indication a swarm has occurred.  Can you locate the point at which this hive swarmed?
