Here is the process for taking an HM-1 reading with your iPhone from start to finish!
1.) Select the B-Ware icon from the iPhone desktop.
2. The software will open with the HM-20 screen. To change to HM-1 mode, simply tap on the HM-1 icon.
3. All nearby HM-1 sensors emit a beacon signal via Bluetooth every few seconds. These beacons are picked up by B-Ware which is scanning for beacons and the Sensor List is populated automatically as each nearby HM-1 beacon is received. The beacon gives the current temperature and humidity reading for each sensor.
Notice that each sensor is labeled with a long UUID number. In order to display the serial number that is printed on the label on the frame, go to Settings and turn on "Use Customer ID". Then return to the HM-1 Sensor List and the sensor labels will appear as below:
Important Note: These values are not stored and are for reference only. Besides displaying these instantaneous values, the HM-1 is storing temperature and humidity values every 1/2 hour in its memory. These stored values are read using the Read Data command. Each HM-1 stores 2000 1/2hr temperature and humidity values. Once downloaded onto the iPhone they can then be uploaded to the cloud with the Upload One or Upload All command.
4. Tap on the circled "i" button to the right of each HM-1 sensor on the Sensor List.
5. Select Read Data.
6. The iPhone will start reading the HM-1.
If the sensor is too far away (more than 10 meters or 30 feet), you may get the following message when trying to read the sensor:
7. Now Upload the data to the cloud by selecting Upload One. You must be within cell tower range or within WiFi range.
8. 2000 data points are now uploaded to the cloud which corresponds to about 40 days. Be sure to read and upload data at least once every month to avoid gaps in your cloud data. As the sensor accumulates new data, the oldest data is overwritten so that the latest 40 days of data is always stored in the sensor.
